The German celebrities want to set an example! The violent death of the African American had in late May George Floyd shocked people all over the world by a police officer. The brutal incident sparked international protests against police violence and racism. So also in Germany: In numerous large cities, people took to the streets on Saturday as part of the Black Lives Matter movement – including numerous stars!
On Instagram the great sympathy of the celebrities at the weekend was clearly visible: dancer Nikeata Thompson (39) gave a speech at Alexanderplatz in Berlin and later published a photo that shows her together with Noah Becker (26). “We know our rights!” Wrote the choreographer with Jamaican roots. Germany’s next top model winner Toni Dreher (20) also spoke to thousands of people in Manheim, as a video on her profile shows. “God created everyone in his likeness! It means that we are all the same”the model quoted a Bible verse.
Influencer Riccardo Simonetti (27), his colleague Farina Opoku aka Novalanalove, model Sara Nuru (30) and musician Shirin David (25) also took part in the demonstrations in Berlin, Cologne, Munich and other cities. Singer Sarah Connor (39) then summed up her participation in the capital on the net: “It was very moving. We demonstrated peacefully with 15,000 other people!”
