Princess Sofía (13) and Princess Leonor of Spain (14) finally back in public! The two young royals, who are the only children of the reigning King Felipe VI. (52) and Queen Letizia (47) have not been seen in any shows for months. To commemorate the people who died because of the current situation, the two blue-blooded girls now showed up with their parents.
How Deutschlandfunk reported, a ten-day mourning in Spain begins on May 27. A video shows that this was initiated not only by the royal couple, but also by his two daughters. All in black and with a serious expression, the family of four arrives in the garden of the palace in Madrid and lined up in front of the waving national flag. With a minute’s silence, the nobles herald the time of mourning and express their sympathy with the 27,000 deceased and their relatives. However, this is not the first time that Sofía and Leonor have demonstrated their solidarity with their compatriots.
It was only in April that the two sisters tried to cheer up the Spanish youth with a very special video message. As part of the traditional reading of the classic “Don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes, the duo read out a few pages from the book. For the first time, all Sofía could hear the public speaking.
