Kyle MacLachlan (61) didn’t always like all the roles he had to play! In the cult series Sex and the City, the actor embodied the character of Trey MacDougal – who almost fulfilled the girl’s dream of series wife Charlotte: he was the perfect gentleman and they married. But marital bliss shouldn’t have a happy ending – which Trey wasn’t entirely innocent of. Now Kyle admits openly: He was really mad at his character!
“Trey was certainly someone who was a bit ignorant of some things. The fans have every right to be angry with me, I was angry with me.”, confessed the “Twin peaks”– Actor opposite Page Six. One scene particularly annoyed the 61-year-old at the time: When Charlotte – played by Kristin Davis (55) – could not get pregnant, Trey gave her a cardboard cutout of a baby as a consolation. The worst part: he couldn’t understand why his sweetheart was so upset about it.
“I asked the show’s creators why they let Trey do it. They said it was funny and I just thought I didn’t think it was okay.”the American said. He could understand why “Sex-and-the-City” lovers didn’t like Trey – he was no different. Whether funny or not, the “cardboard baby” scene was remembered by diehard fans of the series.
