Max Giesinger (31) unpacks! The singer now speaks openly about the disadvantages of the music business. With his song “80 Million” he took the German charts by storm and became famous overnight. The musician obviously also felt that this success had a downside. Now he revealed how exhausting the time after his breakthrough was and what helped him.
“It hit me like an ICE. I really thought I was going crazy,” revealed Max now in the fifth edition of “Sing mein Song – Das Tauschkonzert”. After “80 million” turned out to be a hit, he could not enjoy it, but instead no longer felt like performing. And that despite the fact that he had to fight for his dream for so long, says the single man. One thing had particularly burdened him: “I didn’t have anyone to talk to about it.” In order to regain strength, he retired to Thailand in early 2018 – that helped him.
His song selection also showed how much this experience is still present for him. On the fifth evening, the songs of the band “Selig” and front man Jan Plewka (49) were the focus. Max opted for “all at once”. Wrote this track Jan once, to always remember that success can lead to a deep fall.
