Prior to the film’s release, a complainant lodged a police report alleging the story was stolen against the makers. According to the media reports surfacing, complainant Akira Aggarwal has accused the film writer Juhi Chaturvedi of stealing the story. Not only this, his lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui has also demanded to watch the entire film along with it. A legal notice has also been issued in this regard.
Akira Aggarwal claims that the story of the film closely resembles the story of his father and late writer Rajiv Agarwal, ’16 Mohandas Lane’. The special thing is that according to Akira Agarwal’s claim, when this story was written by his father Rajiv Agarwal, he also sent it to participate in ‘Cinestan India’s Storyteller Script Contest’. The jury members of this contest included Juhi Chaturvedi.
This contest took place in 2018. In which his father sent this script. He was then shortlisted. Akira Aggarwal has also approached the Screenwriters Association (SWA) on the issue. Following the complaint, Juhi Chaturvedi was also asked to submit his script. However, the screen-writer has not done so yet. He has also claimed that he has not found any such script. In such a case, this case continues to get complicated. Now we have to see what the makers say about this.
